  New Idea for Christmas Decorating?

  well.. its only days away from when i begin all my christmas decorating... and i just found this brilliant (in my opinion) idea for decorating.... .

  she uses doves which she hangs from the ceiling with garland beads glued to their beaks......and it appears as if the doves are decorating the tree... .

  Do you watch for people you know?

  i do.. i come here everyday hoping to see someone new that i know.

  maybe family, possibly friends.. hell, i wouldn't mind seeing people i wasn't all that close with.. i hope one day i'll come here and find my sisters or my nephews or nieces or cousins ..... or some good friends that i miss...... .

  I have had three people contact me that I had known in the past. A couple of others whom might have crossed my path, but we couldn't recall precisely. I, if you might have noticed, am quite the same person in real life as here, and so it pretty easy to identify me if you ever knew me or my location.

  Two were friendly. Another was a cyber-stalker [likely a local Jw], who then disapeared into the fog of cyberdom to lurk silently I suppose.

  Cyber stalker huh? Isn't that nice?! But two vs one is not too bad.

  Of course with me - if you want to know who I am I will give you my address and number and a damned map. That's just me.

  Ah, you're open about that. I know at first I was really nervous. But now, since I am always looking for someone, I would rather people know me and where I'm at so they can find me.

  YAMS or SWEET POTATOES: need recipes

  i always add butter, brown sugar, pecans and marshmallows.

  sometimes i whip them like mashed potatoes and sometimes i cut them in chunks.

  any other ideas?

  This is what I'm making:

  INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 cups warm mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • .
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • dash salt

  PREPARATION:

  Combine mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, butter, egg, coconut, milk and vanilla; mix well. Pour into a buttered 1- to 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Mix light brown sugar, pecans, flour, melted butter or margarine, and salt. I made this last year for Thanksgiving and loved it. I was asked to make it for Christmas and wouldn't ya know, I couldn't find the recipe. So when I started planning dinner for this Thanksgiving I found it again and bookmarked it.   Horrible Life: You sound like me a bit. I think there is a poster here, Inky (maybe its Inkling) and that reminded me of an old friend and before I had the chance to figure out whether or not it was her, I had learned that she is in China, possibly serving as a special pioneer.

  I have found one person kind of through here. She was at an apostafest a couple of years ago. She recognized me from when I was a kid.

  So, I know there is always hope....

  hmm perhaps I should change the name of the thread??!

  Gossip.

  Really bad gossip in the field ministry. Pioneers no less.

  After that I ended up just finding one person to go out in service with because I didn't want to hear the gossip.

  It ticked me off and came across as so mean and unloving.

  Recession Coming?

  every year john mitchell (the head economist for u.s.bank) gives a talk to us realtors, in portland or.

  he talks first about the world economy, then the u.s.a. and ends up with oregon's economy ....he usually is right on.

  he perdicted housing prices peeking the third quarter of "06" he this came to pass.
